Trip to an Apple Orchard (with optional pie baking & lunch)
Want to experience an American fall tradition of going for a hike and picking Apples? Want to taste freshly made apple cider and try delicious freshly cooked apple pie? Then you will want to join our Apple Orchard event. We will start by going to a farm just 15 minutes from Iowa City to give you a chance to try baking an Apple Pie or learn how to make Apple Cider, or play board games until we all eat a free lunch with our freshly made pie and cider. Afterward, we will go to a local apple orchard to go for a hike through beautiful apple grove with hundreds of apple trees where you can pick apples to purchase them and bring them back to campus. We know many students are too busy to do both activities, so we will provide rides to both, so you can come to either lunch and baking or to the apple orchard or both.
This event is for International Students and American’s who want to welcome international students and is entirely free. You are also welcome to invite your friends, so feel free to forward them the address to this info and have them sign up:
Rides will be provided from the south side of the IMU at 10:00 am for the lunch and baking or if you just want to come to the Apple Orchard you can get a free ride at 1:00 pm. Be sure to sign up so we make sure we have enough drivers.
